Alloy additives known as inoculants are used to enhance the characteristics of cast iron.
In order to improve the strength, toughness, and wear resistance of cast iron, the inoculant's main goals are to increase the amount of eutectic masses, reduce the tendency of white mouth, improve the morphology and distribution of graphite, promote graphitization, and fine-tune the matrix organization.
Silicon-barium alloy, also known as barium inoculant, is an alloy made of silicon and barium. It has excellent electrical conductivity, high density, high strength, and high toughness. It finds extensive application in the chemical industry, mechanical manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, and other domains.
Application
Various applications will be used for various iron casting kinds and production needs:
Inoculation in package: pouring molten iron into bags containing nucleating agent and allowing it to melt uniformly.
Surface breeds: uniformly apply inoculants to the heated metal surface to speed up the process.
Spraying inoculants: Inoculants will be proportionately diluted and sprayed into the mold using a spray gun positioned on the cavity's exterior.
Pouring inoculation: the feeding effect occurs when molten iron is poured into the cavity of a tundish along with the nucleating agent.
